Raagini (1958)

Raagini is a 1958 musical drama starring real-life brothers Ashok Kumar and Kishore Kumar, with the celebrated dancer-actress Padmini as the female lead. Music and dance are at the heart of the story, with Padmini given several dance showcases and Kishore Kumar cast as a man devoted to music. O. P. Nayyar composed the score, and the film holds a famous curiosity: in the classical song Man Mora Baawra, Kishore Kumar, himself one of India's great singers, is heard in the voice of Mohammed Rafi, because the song demanded a classically trained voice. It remains a favourite trivia question among fans of the period.
