Raajneeti (2010)

Samar Pratap is studying in America and plans to stay out of the political party that his family has run for decades. When he returns home for his father's birthday, a struggle for succession breaks out between his elder brother Prithviraj and his ambitious cousin Veerendra, who has found an ally in Sooraj, a fiery young Dalit leader. As betrayals multiply, the quiet, clever Samar proves more ruthless than anyone expected, guided by his uncle Brij Gopal. Prakash Jha's sprawling political thriller draws openly on the Mahabharata, with characters mirroring Arjuna, Karna, Duryodhana and Krishna, and on The Godfather. It features one of the biggest ensemble casts of its time, was filmed largely in and around Bhopal, and was a major box-office hit.
