Raavan Raaj (1995)

Raavan Raaj: A True Story is a mid-1990s police thriller directed by T. Rama Rao, with Mithun Chakraborty as a determined officer investigating a series of murders of young women. The trail leads him towards a cold-blooded killer and the influential people who shield him, and the hunt becomes personal. Madhoo plays the heroine, with Aditya Pancholi in a key role. The film is a Hindi remake of the Tamil hit Pulan Visaranai, which was itself inspired by a real criminal case in Chennai, hence the subtitle. It is one of the grittier Mithun action films of the decade.
