About Radio Verdad 95.7 FM

Radio Verdad is the radio voice of the Assemblies of God in El Salvador, broadcasting from San Salvador on 95.7 FM stereo under the callsign YSAD. Its slogan, Voz del Pentecostes, has been read on air since the first test transmission on 14 November 1995, and the station still opens with the same words about proclaiming the lordship of Christ in the final time of history. The day is built on preaching, teaching and prayer, wrapped in what the station itself calls a fresh musical breeze, so the speech rarely runs long without a hymn or a chorus. A verse of the day sits on the front page, an Android app carries the signal to phones, and the Facebook page is where listeners answer back. The offices are on Calle a San Antonio Abad beside the Instituto Biblico Betel Central, and three phone lines there are answered by people.

Worth knowing

The licence came out of a two-year chase that ended mid-flight, when the head of the national telecoms agency turned to a station founder on a plane from New York to San Salvador and told him the frequency had come through.
