About RàdioSeu 107.2 FM

RàdioSeu is the municipal station of La Seu d'Urgell, the Pyrenean town in the Alt Urgell county of Catalonia, and it has been on air since 1 July 1985, when a group of young locals talked the town council into letting them build a radio. Four decades on it is still built the same way, around volunteers and contributors from the valley working alongside a professional core. What you hear is the daily pulse of the town and the mountains: news bulletins, interviews, local history, farming, health, books, the weather, and a great deal of live sport from the local basketball and football sides. The tone is proximity rather than polish, a public service made by people who live in the streets they are reporting on. Everything is in Catalan, and the website carries the full back catalogue as radio on demand for listeners who have left the valley.
