Rangeen Raatein (1956)

Rangeen Raatein ("colourful nights") is a 1956 Hindi romantic drama directed by Kidar Sharma, the film-maker who gave Raj Kapoor and Madhubala their first leading roles. It stars Shammi Kapoor with Mala Sinha and Geeta Bali, who had married Shammi Kapoor the year before. The story is a love story with heartbreak, played out in a hill setting, in the style of the romances of the 1950s. The songs are by Roshan, a regular collaborator of Kidar Sharma. The film comes from the years just before Tumsa Nahin Dekha (1957) changed Shammi Kapoor's screen image.
