Rangoli (2023)

Rangoli is a 2023 Tamil coming-of-age drama directed by Vaali Mohan Das. Hamaresh plays Sathya, a teenager from a working-class family whose father moves him from a government school to an expensive private school in the hope of a better future. There he struggles with the gap in class and language, the rules of a new world and the attention of a classmate played by Prarthana Sandeep, while his old life and friends pull him the other way. The film looks at schooling, parental hopes and adolescence with a light, realistic touch. The Hindi dub keeps the original title.
