Red (2021)

When a young man is found stabbed to death in Hyderabad, the investigating officer has a photograph of the suspect and a quick arrest: Siddharth, a respectable civil engineer. Then a second man is picked up, Aditya, a small-time con artist who gambles for a living, and he is Siddharth's double. Each insists he is innocent, the evidence fits both, and neither will say anything about the other. Red is a Telugu crime thriller in which Ram Pothineni plays both men, switching between the composed engineer and the cocky hustler. It is a remake of the Tamil hit Thadam (2019), itself drawn from a real case, and was released in January 2021. Mani Sharma composed the music.
