In a small Tamil town, Siva has made a name for himself as the man who helps young couples elope when their families object, carrying off brides from under the noses of angry relatives. One such rescue puts him in conflict with a powerful local gangster, and as old enmities from his family's past resurface, he must protect the people he loves while the feud turns increasingly violent. Rekka, meaning wings, was Vijay Sethupathi's first all-out commercial action entertainer after a run of smaller, critically admired films, with Lakshmi Menon as the heroine and D. Imman's songs adding to the masala mix. Director K. S. Ravikumar appears in an acting role.
