A journalist in a small coastal town sets out to write about a crime and the fishing community around it. Through the accounts of different people, a story emerges: Richie, a hot-headed young man who rules the streets, a gentle boatman, a boy who ran away from home and a missing package that set everything in motion. Each version adds a piece and changes the picture. Richie is a Tamil remake of Rakshit Shetty's Kannada cult film Ulidavaru Kandanthe (2014), keeping its multi-narrator structure and its composer, B. Ajaneesh Loknath. It marked the Tamil debut of Malayalam star Nivin Pauly, and cinematographer-actor Natarajan Subramaniam plays an important role.
