Riktha (2017)

Riktha ("empty") is a Kannada drama starring Sanchari Vijay, who won the National Award for Best Actor for Naanu Avanalla Avalu, with Vakdevi Advika. As the title suggests, it is a smaller, character-led film about loss and loneliness rather than a commercial entertainer, giving Vijay room for the restrained, sensitive acting he was known for. It is worth seeking out by viewers who followed his work before his early death in 2021.
