Thongs is a cat burglar with a gambling habit; his partner Octopus wastes his share on a wife who walks all over him, and their ageing fence, the Landlord, plans every job. Deep in debt, they accept a lucrative commission from a triad boss: steal the newborn heir of a wealthy Hong Kong family. The theft goes smoothly, but the handover does not, and the two crooks are left changing nappies and running from both the police and the gangsters, while slowly becoming the baby's unlikely guardians. Rob-B-Hood mixes slapstick, sentiment and some of Jackie Chan's inventive late-career stunt work, including set pieces in which the baby is very much in peril. It reunited Jackie Chan on screen with his old opera-school brother Yuen Biao, who plays a police inspector, and was one of the biggest Hong Kong hits of 2006.
