Romi The Hero

Romi The Hero is a low-budget comedy made in Hyderabadi Deccani, the Urdu-Hindi dialect of the old city of Hyderabad. Directed by Santosh Gupta, it stars Mudassir Khan with Gullu Dada and Shehbaaz Khan, regulars of the local Deccani film scene, and draws its laughs from street banter, local characters and the misadventures of a young man who fancies himself a hero. Like other films of this small industry, its appeal lies in its dialect humour and neighbourhood flavour.
