S. P. Bhargavi (1991)

S. P. Bhargavi is a 1991 Kannada action film directed by V. Somashekar, a veteran maker of Kannada action dramas. Malashri, then at the height of her popularity as one of the top Kannada heroines, plays the title role of a Superintendent of Police who takes on criminals and corrupt men of power. Devaraj, known for tough-guy and police roles, and Doddanna, a familiar comic and character actor, appear in support. The film was part of the wave of woman-centred police films that turned Malashri into an action star.
