A good-hearted village family is murdered by a gang of brothers who rule their region through fear. An infant son survives, carried away and raised abroad with no knowledge of where he came from. Years later he is a video-game designer who returns to India and, after meeting the woman he loves, begins to cross paths with the men who destroyed his family. The film's central idea is that the five elements of nature, earth, water, fire, air and sky, are "witnesses" (the title means testimony) and each plays a part in punishing the killers. Saakshyam is a big-budget mix of mythology-tinged fantasy and mass action, with Jagapathi Babu as the menacing chief villain and lavish visual-effects set-pieces.
