Dr. Salim is a kind, principled young doctor who treats poor patients without worrying about the bills, which does not please the private hospital that employs him or the ambitious fiancée who wants a more successful husband. As his life starts to fall apart, a night-time encounter with a powerful minister's son and his reckless friends drags Salim into a confrontation in which the quiet man shows a very different side. Salim is a follow-up to the 2012 thriller Naan, continuing the story of the same character, and like that film it stars Vijay Antony, who also composed the music. It was a commercial success and confirmed his move from composer to leading man.
