The eldest of four brothers has been father and guardian to the others since their parents died, and the family lives together in loving harmony under his care, with the support of his gentle wife. When the younger brothers grow up and fall in love, ego, money and an outsider's influence begin to open cracks in the household. Sankranti, named after the harvest festival when families come together, is a Telugu remake of the Tamil hit Aanandham (2001) by N. Lingusamy. Venkatesh leads as the eldest brother, with Srikanth and a young Sharwanand among the brothers. It was a big success with family audiences and is remembered for its warm festival atmosphere and S. A. Rajkumar's songs.
