Sant Gyaneshwar (1982)

Sant Gyaneshwar tells the story of Dnyaneshwar, the 13th-century saint of Maharashtra who, with his brothers and sister, was shunned by orthodox society as the child of a monk who had returned to family life, and who as a youth composed the Dnyaneshwari, his celebrated Marathi commentary on the Bhagavad Gita. This 1982 version features Bharat Bhushan, Usha Solanki and Mahesh Kothare. It should not be confused with the better-known 1964 film of the same name.
