Jaggi has an unusual trade in his Punjab village: he catches ghosts, trapping them in bottles. His fame reaches England, where he is invited to rid an old castle of the spirit that is scaring off buyers. The ghost turns out to be Perry, a lively young woman with a story of her own, and Jaggi's plans become complicated as he grows fond of her, while back home Dimple has her own claim on his heart. Sardaarji is a cheerful horror comedy built around Diljit Dosanjh's comic charm, and it became one of the biggest Punjabi hits up to that time, launching a sequel, Sardaarji 2, in 2016. Its foreign locations and catchy songs were a big part of its appeal.
