Saroj lives in a small town with a family that badly wants to see her married, but one rishta after another falls through because the boys and their families judge her by her weight. Saroj keeps her sense of humour, while her parents fret and the neighbourhood gossips. When a match finally seems possible, it brings its own complications and forces Saroj to decide what she actually wants from a marriage and from herself. The film treats the familiar arranged-marriage comedy with a body-positive message, playing the embarrassments of bride-viewing for laughs without making Saroj the joke. It gives a lead role to Sanah Kapoor, daughter of actors Pankaj Kapur and Supriya Pathak, who made her debut in Shaandaar (2015).
