Sasirekha Parinayam (2009)

Sasirekha is a lively young woman who runs away rather than go through with an arranged marriage. On the road she meets Abhimanyu, and as they travel together and get into scrapes, a bond forms between them, with secrets on both sides that will come back to complicate the families waiting at home. Sasirekha Parinayam ("Sasirekha's wedding", a title borrowed from a famous episode of the Mahabharata) is a romantic drama from Krishna Vamsi, the director of Ninne Pelladata and Murari, known for colourful family weddings and traditional settings. Genelia, then at the height of her popularity in Telugu, leads with Tarun. It is a gentle romance with music and family emotion.
