Sati Toral (1989)

Sati Toral draws on the well-known folk legend of western India about Toral, a woman of deep spiritual power remembered as a saint, whose story is told in Gujarati folk songs and on stage. Films on such folk legends were a staple of Gujarati cinema, and this one appears in a Hindi version. It stars Arvind Trivedi, the veteran Gujarati actor who became famous across India as Raavan in the television Ramayan, with Sheela Sharma and Meghna Rai. Expect a mix of devotion, folk music, drama and some action in the tradition of regional folk cinema.
