Kanal is an unhappy engineering student who never wanted to study engineering in the first place. Short of money and resentful, he and his friends discover how much can be made by bringing new students to private colleges for hefty commissions, and they start working the admissions trade. Their success puts them in the path of Ravi Varma, a smooth, powerful agent who controls the business and does not tolerate rivals. Mathi Maran's debut feature is a sharp look at the capitation-fee racket in Tamil Nadu's private colleges. Director Gautham Vasudev Menon is cast as the villain, and G. V. Prakash Kumar both stars and composed the music.
