Senapathi (2021)

A young sub-inspector whose service revolver goes missing during a routine operation, a disaster that could end his career. As he searches for it, the weapon passes through several hands and lands with a gentle-seeming older man who uses it in a series of crimes, and the hunt becomes a tense game between an anxious young cop and a calculating older man. Senapathi is a Telugu remake of the Tamil thriller 8 Thottakkal (2017), directed by Pavan Sadineni. It gives veteran comedy star Rajendra Prasad a rare serious, dark role, which is the chief reason to watch. It was released directly online at the end of 2021.
