Sethupathi IPS (1994)

Sethupathi IPS is a 1994 Tamil police action film directed by P. Vasu and starring Vijayakanth as the title character, an incorruptible senior police officer, with Meena as the heroine and songs by Ilaiyaraaja. Sethupathi's war on a terrorist group and its political backers puts both him and the people he protects in danger. Vijayakanth's run of patriotic police roles in the 1990s, of which this is one, helped build his image as Tamil cinema's 'Captain' of law-and-order heroes.
