Shadow (2013)

Venkatesh plays a man who operates under the name Shadow, systematically targeting a group of powerful criminals connected to a past wrong done to his family. Srikanth appears as a police officer drawn into the case, and Taapsee Pannu plays the heroine whose path crosses his. The film, directed by Meher Ramesh of Kantri and Shakti, is an all-out stylised revenge action film with foreign locations, slick fights and comedy tracks, a departure from the family dramas Venkatesh was best known for at the time. It did not succeed at the box office but is of interest for seeing the star in a dark, action-heavy avatar.
