Shaheed-E-Azam (2002)

Shaheed-E-Azam tells the story of Bhagat Singh, the young revolutionary who became one of the most celebrated figures of India's freedom struggle. It follows him from a childhood marked by the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, through his involvement with revolutionary groups and the actions against British rule that made him famous, to his trial in Lahore alongside his comrades. Sonu Sood, in his first Hindi film, plays Bhagat Singh. The film was one of three Bhagat Singh biopics released in 2002, alongside The Legend of Bhagat Singh with Ajay Devgn and 23rd March 1931: Shaheed with Bobby Deol, and is the least known of the three, though it gave Sonu Sood an early lead role.
