Shair (1949)

Shair ("the poet") is a 1949 Hindi romantic drama directed by Chaturbhuj Doshi, starring a young Dev Anand with Suraiya, the singing star with whom he had a famous off-screen romance at the time, and Kamini Kaushal. The story is a love triangle around a poet. Its songs, composed by Ghulam Mohammed and sung largely by Suraiya, are the main reason the film is remembered.
