Shart (1969)

Shart ("The Wager") is a 1969 Hindi film starring Sanjay Khan, then a rising romantic lead, opposite Mumtaz, who was on the verge of becoming one of the top heroines of the period. Comedian Rajendra Nath, known for his comic sidekick roles of the 1960s, appears in support. The film belongs to the colourful late-1960s phase of Hindi cinema, built around a star pairing, songs and light drama. Few details of it are widely remembered today, so it is best approached as a period piece for fans of its leads.
