Shatruvu (1991)

Shatruvu ("enemy") is a Telugu action drama directed by Kodi Ramakrishna, a specialist in socially charged commercial films, starring Venkatesh and Vijayashanti. Venkatesh plays a man who becomes the enemy of a powerful criminal network after seeing its cruelty first-hand, and the film follows his fight against corrupt politicians and gangsters, with Vijayashanti in a strong role of her own. It was a hit and a good example of the angry, issue-driven action films of its time.
