Shaurya (2008)

Captain Javed Khan, a young officer serving in Kashmir, is accused of killing his superior during an operation, and the army is ready to treat it as an open-and-shut case. Major Siddhant Chaudhary, a laid-back military lawyer more interested in enjoying life than in winning cases, is assigned to defend him, against his friend Major Akash Kapoor as prosecutor. A journalist and the dead officer's widow push him to look harder, and what he uncovers points towards the commanding Brigadier Rudra Pratap Singh and the prejudice at the heart of the incident. Shaurya draws openly on the Hollywood court-martial drama A Few Good Men but makes its own argument about communal bias in the forces. Kay Kay Menon's chilling Brigadier, with a long monologue near the climax, won wide acclaim.
