Shokhiyan (1951)

Shokhiyan ("playfulness") is a 1951 Hindi film directed by Kidar Sharma, the poet-director who discovered Raj Kapoor and Madhubala. Suraiya, one of the leading singing stars of the period, pairs with Premnath. The music is by Jamal Sen, a composer from the Rajasthani folk tradition, for whom this was a rare major assignment.
