Shriman Satyawadi (1960)

Shriman Satyawadi ("Mr. Truthful") casts Raj Kapoor in the kind of role his screen image was built on: an honest, simple man trying to live by his principles in a world of cheats and compromise. Shakila, a popular heroine of the 1950s, is his co-star. The music is by Dattaram, a long-time associate of Shankar–Jaikishan, and the film is best remembered for Mukesh's song "Haal-e-dil hamara jaane na bewafa yeh zamana". Details of its story beyond its theme are not widely documented.
