Vichu is a cheerful young man who helps his grandfather at a temple in Kumbakonam and lives a gentle life of rituals and flirtation with a girl played by Sana Khan. But his quiet surface hides surprising fighting skills, and when violent men arrive from his family's past, a long flashback reveals the story of his father Tamizharasan, a master of silambam, the Tamil art of stick-fighting, and the bitter village feud that tore the family apart. Silambarasan plays both father and son, with Sneha as the father's wife. Yuvan Shankar Raja's songs were a big draw, and the film was a solid commercial success for Silambarasan. It was Sana Khan's first Tamil film.
