Siliconn City (2017)

A journalist's family is torn apart when his mother is killed during a chain snatching on the streets of Bengaluru, and he sets out to find the men responsible. His search leads him into the organised world of chain-snatching gangs, where his own younger brother turns out to be involved, and into a violent conflict with the gang's leader. Siliconn City is a Kannada remake of the Tamil crime thriller Metro (2016), relocated to Bengaluru, the "Silicon City" of the title, with Srinagar Kitty in the lead. Like the original, it uses the crime to explore greed and the pressures of city life on young people.
