Silsiilay (2005)

Silsiilay is made of three linked stories about women and love in contemporary Mumbai. Each follows a woman at a turning point in a relationship, from love outside a marriage to loneliness within one and the discovery that a lover is not what he seemed. The stories touch one another at the edges, and Shah Rukh Khan acts as the narrator who ties them together. The film was written and directed by Khalid Mohamed, a former film critic who also made Fiza and Tehzeeb, and it gathers an unusually varied cast. Himesh Reshammiya composed the songs, at the height of his popularity.
