When men connected to a powerful businessman start dying one after another, the police find that the suspects are ordinary people, including a schoolteacher, with no obvious reason to kill. The investigation slowly uncovers a link to a man who devoted his life to planting trees and fighting pollution, and to the damage that greed has done to the land and the air. Simbaa is a Telugu eco-thriller directed by Murali Manohar from a story by Sampath Nandi, with Jagapathi Babu in a central role and Anasuya Bharadwaj as one of the people caught up in the killings. It uses the format of a crime investigation to deliver a message about the environment.
