Gautham grew up in an orphanage and has learned to stand on his own. When he falls in love with Vaishnavi, the feeling is mutual, but her father has one firm condition for any son-in-law: he must come from a large, loving family, the one thing Gautham cannot offer. Winning the father over becomes the heart of the story, mixed with comedy, family emotion and some action when outside trouble threatens. Solo was the second film of director Parasuram, who later made Geetha Govindam, and an early lead role for Nara Rohit after Baanam. It is a gentle, family-friendly romantic drama with music by Mani Sharma.
