Sundara Travels (2002)

A young man pours everything into a rickety old bus he names Sundara Travels, hoping to make a living from it, with the help of his scatterbrained friend. The bus breaks down, gets confiscated, gets rebuilt, and drags them into misadventures with police, moneylenders and a runaway girl who is fleeing her family. As the jokes pile up, the bus becomes almost a character in itself. Sundara Travels is the Tamil remake of the Malayalam hit Ee Parakkum Thalika (2001), and Thaha directed both versions. Vadivelu's comedy as the hero's partner made the film a lasting favourite on Tamil television, and many of his lines and scenes have since become popular memes.
