Swarnakka (1998)

Swarnakka is a 1998 Telugu drama with Roja in the title role of a strong-willed village woman, alongside director-actor Dasari Narayana Rao and Prithviraj. The film follows her fight against oppression and the men who abuse their power over the village, giving Roja one of her more dramatic heroine-centred roles of the period. It mixes social drama and action in the manner of Telugu films of the late 1990s.
