Prithvi and Shashank lead rival gangs of students who fight constantly on their college campus. When the dreaded gangster Bhikshu Yadav lays claim to the college grounds, the only way left to save them is an unusual wager: a game of rugby against his own men. The rivals must put aside their egos and turn a bunch of brawling students into a team, while Prithvi romances the lively Indu. Sye was S. S. Rajamouli's third film, after Student No. 1 and Simhadri, and was among the first Indian films built around rugby, with rough, physical match sequences. Pradeep Rawat's menacing Bhikshu Yadav made him a sought-after villain in the south, and M. M. Keeravani's songs were hits.
