Tarzan (1985)

Raised in the jungle among animals after his parents are lost, Tarzan grows into a powerful, innocent young man who has never met another human being. When an expedition arrives, he is drawn to Ruby, the daughter of its leader, and a shy romance grows between the wild man and the city girl. But the outsiders include men who want to exploit the jungle and capture Tarzan, and he has to fight to protect Ruby and his animal family. This 1985 Hindi version of Edgar Rice Burroughs' character, directed by B. Subhash, was a surprise hit, made newcomer Hemant Birje and Kimi Katkar household names and was much talked about for its bold costumes. Bappi Lahiri composed the songs.
