Shiva and Karthik grow up as brothers with opposite natures: Shiva is gentle and easily frightened, Karthik is bold and quick with his fists. When their father's dream of a police officer in the family falls on Shiva, the younger brother quietly steps in behind him, beating up goons in the shadows while Shiva takes the credit. The arrangement works until Shiva is posted to a town ruled by a gang, and the act becomes deadly serious. Thadaka is the Telugu remake of the Tamil hit Vettai (2012), with Sunil, better known as a comedian, playing the soft elder brother and Naga Chaitanya the action lead. Tamannaah and Andrea Jeremiah play the sisters the brothers marry, and S. Thaman's songs were a big part of its appeal.
