Thanga Magan (1983)

Thanga Magan ("golden son") is a 1983 Tamil action drama directed by A. Jagannathan, starring Rajinikanth with Poornima Jayaram. It belongs to the early-1980s period when Rajinikanth was establishing himself as Tamil cinema's top action hero, and it follows a familiar but effective pattern: a hero with a hidden purpose, a family wronged in the past, and villains who must eventually face him. Ilaiyaraaja composed the songs. It should not be confused with the 2015 Dhanush film of the same name.
