The Stolen Princess (2018)

Ruslan is a young travelling actor who dreams of being a real knight. When he meets the spirited Princess Mila, the two fall for each other, but the evil sorcerer Chernomor, who stays powerful by draining the magic of others, has her carried off to his castle. Ruslan sets off to rescue her with only his wits and courage, and picks up unlikely allies along the way. The Stolen Princess is a 2018 Ukrainian animated feature, loosely based on Alexander Pushkin's fairy-tale poem Ruslan and Ludmila. It was made by the Kyiv studio Animagrad and was one of the most ambitious animated films produced in Ukraine, with a colourful look, comic sidekicks and plenty of action for younger viewers.
