The Train (2011)

The Train is a Malayalam thriller set in Mumbai and built around the city's suburban railway, which had been hit by serial bomb blasts in 2006. Mammootty plays Kedarnath, a senior police officer who learns that another attack is being planned and has very little time to stop it. Around his investigation the film weaves several other stories, including a young musician, played by Jayasurya, and people whose everyday journeys will all lead to the same rail line. Director Jayaraj, known for the Navarasa series of films such as Karunam and Shantham, tells it in a multi-strand, ensemble style, and shot extensively on location in Mumbai. Sheena Chohan plays one of the leads.
