Ganesh is a medical student who returns to Madurai and gets on the wrong side of a dominant local family. The real threat turns out to be Easwari, the clan's ruthless daughter, who decides to hound him after a clash, and Ganesh has to fight back to protect the people he loves. Thimiru ("arrogance") is a Madurai-set action film in the rural-masala style that made Vishal a mass hero after Sandakozhi. Its most talked-about element was Shriya Reddy's fierce performance as the villainess, a rare female antagonist in a Tamil mass film, while Vadivelu provides comedy and Yuvan Shankar Raja wrote the music.
