Mani works as a DJ in Hyderabad's nightclubs, but his real life revolves around drugs, betting and quick money. He has long resented his mother, blaming her for the way his childhood went, and he treats her with open contempt. When a gambling debt to a dangerous man spins out of control, Mani grows desperate and starts making choices that push him and the people around him toward disaster. Thippara Meesam is a dark, character-driven drama rather than a crowd-pleaser, carried by Sree Vishnu's committed turn as an unlikeable hero and by Rohini as the patient mother at the heart of the story. Nikki Tamboli, later known from reality television, plays the woman in his life.
