Mani Shankar is a DJ in Hyderabad who lives for nightlife, betting and quick thrills, and has little time for his mother, who runs a school and still hopes he will change. When his gambling leaves him owing dangerous people a large sum of money, he takes desperate steps, and the cost of his choices begins to fall on the person who loves him most. The title is a Telugu phrase for a twirled, defiant moustache, hinting at the hero's arrogance. Sree Vishnu, known for choosing offbeat roles, plays against his usual good-guy image here, and Rohini, as the patient mother, gives the film its emotional core.
