Tiger and Vishnu met as boys in an orphanage and have been inseparable ever since, with the quick-tempered Tiger always ready to fight for his gentler friend. Vishnu falls in love with Ganga, a young woman from a rich and violent family in Varanasi, and when her relatives learn of the romance they are prepared to go to any length to end it. Tiger takes it on himself to protect the couple and get them through, whatever it costs him. Director Vi Anand, who later made the fantasy Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada, gives the film the energy of a chase thriller set partly on the ghats and lanes of Varanasi, with the friendship between the two heroes at its centre.
